Define the product purchase
A centrifuge polymer must be evaluated through the installed conditioning and mechanical path. Large floc in a quiet test does not prove solids capture under acceleration and shear. A purchase comparison should keep machine condition and dry-solids loading visible beside the product code.
Identify the stream, separator and unresolved limitation before selecting a trial grade. Preserve the proposed commercial code so laboratory work and purchasing refer to the same material.
Document machine and feed conditions
Record sludge source, solids, preparation and injection route with feed rate and the machine settings relevant to the trial. Distinguish a vendor-controlled setting change from a chemical improvement.

Challenge leading candidates appropriately
Use controlled bench conditioning for initial selection, then compare the leading codes on the actual equipment. Preserve dilution, addition point and observation delay.
Do not extrapolate a gentle drainage ranking into a centrifuge capacity claim. The useful dose window must survive the actual feed and machine stress.
Compare accepted solids handling
Measure cake solids, capture, centrate quality and dry-solids throughput at a documented active dose. Use repeated stable samples rather than choosing one dry cake grab.
If the candidate requires a significant setting or injection change, include it in the approved operating record and the commercial comparison rather than claiming a chemical-only gain.
Resolve a conflicting result
A drier cake accompanied by poorer capture or lower throughput may be a tradeoff, not a purchasing improvement. Compare all agreed acceptance conditions at a common loading basis.
Retain the reference condition and repeat the comparison where sampling or instrument variability obscures the difference. Report what remains untested rather than extending one favorable response to the entire plant.
